2 Skin Care Products to use Every Morning

Tips from an Aesthetic Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Mornings are not always the best time for a 10 step skincare routine. If you are looking to enhance your cleanse and moisturize routine, or start anywhere, here are the only 2 products you need!

1) Vitamin C treatment serum

Especially if you have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that defends the skin from harmful free radicals and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also brightens and evens out skin tone. My go-to is AlumierMD EverActive C&E™ + Peptide. It is a potent, clinically validated, antioxidant serum to reduce the visible signs of aging. A unique delivery system ensures the 15% vitamin C complex is always optimally active. The vitamin C crystals are kept separate in a unique cap and only mixed into the bottle of serum when you are ready to use it. You’ll find that not all Vitamin C serums are of the same quality or effectiveness, which is why I am a huge advocate for medical grade skin care!

2) Sun Protection, spf 40+

The #1 most important skin care product is sunscreen. If I have a client that is uninterested in skincare, the singular impression I try to leave on him (why is it always a him?) is that protecting your face, neck, hands, chest, body, is the best thing you can do to age well. Unprotected Sun Exposure will age you faster than any other factor, besides maybe smoking. If you invest in your skin with treatments, you should be reapplying your sunscreen every couple hours. It is a simple way to enhance your Botox or laser treatments, and get the most value for your $$$. SkinBetter Science has a wide range of sunscreen options, and there is something for everyone. I personally love to reapply with their SunBetter Tone Better compact. Medical grade sunscreen is the best protection, and healthiest option for your skin BUT here’s the thing, if you have a sunscreen you like, whether it be chemical, drugstore, cheap, or tinted to look like makeup, just wear it!
